Principal's Message
To begin with I, on behalf of the entire Nowboicha College family would like to welcome all those aspirant students who want to complete their graduation from Nowboicha College. Nowboicha College is a pioneering institution of higher education in Nowboicha Assembly Constituency, the second biggest constituency of Assam. The College was established in 1985. It was only because of some intellectuals of this remote area of Lakhimpur district who wanted to establish a college in order to enlighten and educate the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MOBC communities of this part of North East India. With over thirty seven years of experience the College, through many ups and downs, has seen a history of constant endeavor at providing quality education to the students of this part of the country.Arural-based and a single stream degree college with Arts stream only, Nowboicha College is always prepared to take as much effort as possible for the betterment of academic scenario in this part of the Globe. Recently the College has been accredited by NAAC and awarded ‘B Grade’ after a long gap of eighteen years. Education is an effective medium of social transformation. Students would cease to grow if they stopped learning.
Nowboicha College besides focusing on the theoretical curriculum, also helps students to improve their all round personality and extra curricular activities. Moreover, from this session Nowboicha College is going to start Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) as an affiliated college of Dibrugarh University under the NEP 2020. The College has also started eight Add-on courses since last year for the betterment of the students. A highly trained faculty, a rich library, a Girls' Hostel, the NCC, the NSS, the Career Guidance Cell, the Red Cross Society, the Red Ribbon Club, the Women Cell of the College offer integrated services for the multi-faceted developments of the students. Teachers of the College always strive to teach not only academic programmes but also try to make the students stand on their own feet in its truest sense. I am highly encouraged to share that many of our students, who have emerged from our College with flying colours , are in higher positions now.I am certain that you will find the undergraduate life in this College the most inspiring years of your life. I wish you all a very healthy, happy and academically fulfilling journey ahead and an outstanding stay in Nowboicha College.
